The International Coaching Federation describes the coaching process as “a professional managed conversation focused on a person’s goals or outcomes. The coach is responsible for the structure and sequence of the conversation, asking questions, opening possibilities, and guiding the process of reflection and learning. The client controls the content of the conversation by identifying the outcomes, insights, options, and actions that will help them achieve their goals.”
-
The International Coaching Federation defines coaching as “partnering with clients in a thought-provoking and creative process that inspires them to maximize their personal and professional potential.”
Coaching Vs Therapy
Coaching focuses on visioning, success, the present and moving toward the future. Therapy emphasizes psychopathology, emotions and the past to understand the present, and it works more with developing skills for managing complex emotions or past trauma. The exploration of emotions and the past may come up within coaching, but the key difference is that the focus of the conversation is on forward driven action.
Coaching Vs Consulting
Coaching helps individuals to become better version of themselves while consulting is focused on providing clients with the expertise that they lack. A coach helps the client to identify their own answers that will work the best for the client, while a consultant is more directive in relaying their guidance.
Coaching Vs Mentoring
Similar to consulting, mentoring is completely directive wherein an experienced expert shares their knowledge, expertise, skills, experience with their mentees and handholds them throughout the direction. Whereas coaching is completely non-directive. It allows the client to find and design their goals and agendas including the plan of action that they want to work on.

It depends! Some factors that could influence this include: how big the changes are, how committed you are to making these changes, what blocks are standing in the way, etc.
I also want to acknowledge that change takes time. Let’s face it, if these changes were easy to make, you probably wouldn’t be looking for a coach right now. I generally recommend that we meet a minimum of 3 months to see long lasting results.
Our first session together (Discovery Session) will be dedicated towards defining the broader goals for yourself and the subsequent sessions will be for driving actionable change through deeper exploration.

You can purchase sessions by the hour. However, I offer both 1 hour and 30 min coaching sessions depending on how you want to break it down.
Let’s discuss more on what would make sense for your needs.
